CHURCH
MEMBERSHIP
If you are interested in
becoming a church member, finding out more about membership or transferring your
membership from your previous church, then could you please ring me or leave
a message for me in the vestry. Tel: 01372 743182
Prospective members who haven't previously either been confirmed or been members
of other Christian churches will be asked to come along to an Alpha Course. (The
current evening course at Banstead started on 10 January with another
daytime
one
probably starting next September). They will also be asked to meet as a group
with me for a couple of sessions to look at some areas not covered by the Alpha
Course. Those who have already attended an Alpha Course will be asked to attend
just the last couple of sessions with me. Please think and pray whether this
step would be right for you.
Thank you Nigel Wright

OTHER
NEWS~
THE DRIVERS is our church's adult
group which meets on the third Monday of each month
from September to June each year. The group is for
the entertainment and pleasure of all our church
adherents and we pay the slightly modest annual subscription
of £4. During the course of our season we have
two meals, numerous and varied talks by various speakers,
a quiz evening and a games evening. The latter two
are always plenty of fun, with the fellowship and
humor far outweighing the need to win!

METHODIST
MISSIONS
Recently we had our Mission in Britain Sunday. Nick White was the preacher
and in his sermon he praised the work of those in our church who use
their abilities to help others in so many ways. He encouraged us all
to use our gifts and to support others in need.
Thank you for your prayers for the work here and throughout the country
and for your generous giving.

GIFT
DAY (2007)
A
huge “Thank You!” to all those who
have contributed to the Gift Day appeal
(see below for details).
The sum raised to date is just over £ 7,000..
Gift Aid tax relief will be claimable on much of this sum.
Open House has also raised £217.00 via their afternoon of entertainment.
We are well on the way to our target of approximately £10,000 for
the two projects:-
Improved
safety of access from our buildings.
A tidy and maintenance-free surface to the enclosed area at the side
of the church.
We
have been concerned for some time about the lack
of means of escape from the west side of the Church
building from both the Link Up and the Vallins
Hall and also the unsightly area which extends
from the Vallins Hall to the front of the Church.
This is a constant worry, as continual gardening
work is required to keep down the weeds to prevent
the area looking like a jungle. The matter has
now become of prime importance.
Under
the circumstances, it has been decided that the
Gift Day should be dedicated to providing these
facilities. The total cost of doing this
work could be in the region of £10,000, and
the more money we can raise towards this will be
of great assistance bearing in mind the delicate
position of the Church’s finances.
Donations
may still be received:-
