Activities for Families, Babies,
Toddlers and older Children
Babies and Toddlers Group: 10.30 am – 12.00 pm, Fridays (term-time only). Baby zone, toddler toys, ride-ons, simple crafts, refreshments, Christmas party, Summer outing. A weekly donation of £1 is suggested. Contact 01737 351982 or just come along.
Teddy Bear Services: 11.45 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. normally on the last Friday of each Nursery half-term. Short, fun-filled service for children of on-site Caterpillar Nursery, Babies and Toddlers Group and others who would like to come along. Contact 01372 743182 for details.
Holiday Fun Week: An ecumenical holiday club for children aged 4 to 13, usually held near the beginning of the School Summer Holidays. This is very popular, so please book early. Contact 0208 660 8398 for more information.
Messy Club: Two-monthly (but may become monthly) after-school extravaganza for primary school-aged children and their families. This usually takes place on a Monday afternoon between 3.15 pm and 6.00 pm. Includes a variety of crafts and some fun workshops which change each time (e.g. drama, face-painting, circus skills), all based around a theme. Parents stay with their children and younger/older siblings are welcome to come along too (some simple toys/crafts are available for any toddlers present). A simple hot meal is provided for everyone, including the adults. There is a charge of £2.50 per participating child to help cover the costs of materials, workshop tuition and food. Sunday School: Small classes for children of all ages which take place during the 11.00 a.m. church service, except when there is a Parade Service when the children remain in church throughout. Classes take place in term-time and sometimes during the school holidays. Includes Bible stories, crafts, games and quizzes. Contact: 01737 812294 for information.
Beavers: For boys and girls aged 6 – 8 years old. Motto: “Fun and Friends”. The annual programme includes games, some badge work, learning through fun activities, outings and sleepovers. Beavers meet in the Scout HQ at the back of the church on Thursdays (5.30 pm – 6.45 pm) in term-time. There is an annual subscription of £77.00 plus termly subs. of £5.00. Cubs: For boys and girls aged 8 – 10. The programme includes camping, sleepovers, badge work, games, challenge awards and outings. Cubs meet in the Scout HQ at the back of the church on Wednesdays (6.30 pm – 8.00 pm) in term-time. There is an annual subscription of £82.00 plus section subs. of £5.00 per term. Scouts: For boys and girls aged 10 – 14. Includes camping, hiking, badge work, cooking initiative tests, sleepovers and outings. Scouts meet in the Scout HQ behind the church on Fridays (7.30 pm – 9 pm) in term–time. The annual subscription is £82.00 plus section subs. of £4.00 per term. Parade Services: Interactive, all-age services for all ages but aimed especially at children and young people. Parade services take place in January, February, March, June, September, October and November on the last Sunday of the month (except in March when it takes place on Mothering Sunday).
