Fun Week Success!

Once again Banstead Methodist Church played host to 180 children and almost 100 adult and teenage helpers, as they sang, laughed and thoroughly enjoyed Fun week. The theme this year was “Sense Sensation” (led by the URC) and there was a lot to taste, smell, see, hear and touch all week.  Each day a bible passage was related to one of our senses (the blind beggar on Monday, turning water into wine on Wednesday) and the children learnt the stories from the bible as they had fun.

There was a lot of painting, sticking, cutting and cooking going on each morning as the children broke into groups after the morning service.  We all enjoyed the aromas and the flavours of the cooking.
In the afternoons, Banstead was awash with blue Fun Week tee shirts as the children headed off for sport and craft activities at venues around the village – the cricket field was a scene of football, rounders and cricket, with teenagers having just as much fun as the children!!
A family picnic rounded off the week on Friday, in Nork Park, with games for the children.

Next year St. Anne’s will lead the week and the theme is, of course, “Olympics”!  If you want to get involved with Fun Week then please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
