Gordon Fleming, the church's appeal organiser thanked all who contributed and those who helped with transporting the boxes to the depo in Croydon. A week ago the depot had processed 8,000 boxes and was confident that it would reach its target of 10,000 boxes.

The church contributed 31 boxes and the 7th Banstead Scouts contributed 42 boxes, a real good effort all round.

Operation Christmas Child is the annual shoebox campaign, providing opportunities for individuals, schools, churches, workplaces, and community groups to send gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children around the world.
